In the program "Towards the Sun", broadcast on the ARB TV channel, there is an interview with Ph.D., Associate Professor Mirnukh Ismayilov, Head of the Department of Landscape Research and Landscape Planning of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H.А. Aliyev.
To prevent a shortage of fresh water in Azerbaijan, the state is preparing a bill on the use of rainwater, which provides for the installation of special devices that can collect rainwater in appropriate places for the use of rainwater.
In this regard, the geographer noted that in different parts of the capital, drinking water is used for irrigation of green spaces and other purposes. The best way to water your plants is to use rainwater. For example, roadside drainage can collect rainwater and store it in reservoirs. On the sides of large asphalt roads, rainwater gutters have been laid. But because they don't work properly, traffic jams and floods occur as soon as it rains a little.
Ismayilov added that by collecting rainwater on the roofs of each house and flowing down water pipes into reservoirs, it is possible to irrigate plants in the summer months. Thus, we can save 30-40% on drinking water.
