September 10 Caucasian Regional Environmental Center in cooperation with the Institute of Geography named after Academician G.A. Aliyev of ANAS presented the project "Global view of forests in the Caucasus region" and an online discussion of possible cooperation with the Institute of Geography of ANAS.
n his speech, academician Ramiz Mammadov noted that 85% of forests, which make up 11% of Azerbaijan's territory, are located on high mountain slopes, so they need to be protected, as they are invaluable for purifying air, soil water. The protection of forests by the state is of great importance. President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly stressed the importance of paying attention to the creation of forest belts. The event discussed the issue of creating a technical expert group project.
