Director of the Institute of Geography, acad. Ramiz Mammadov told ATV channel about the reduction in water volume due to climate change.

Reminding that 60% of the territory of Azerbaijan is arid, the academician noted that this is especially noticeable in the Kura-Araz lowland, where cotton is grown, which requires a change in the irrigation method.

He said that the irrational use of water by people exacerbates the problem: “It is necessary to create new reservoirs to solve the problem”.
