The golf federation of Azerbaycan held an informal meeting of the Institute of Geography with the editors of the magazine “National Geographic Azerbaijan”. The meeting organized on the initiative of the magazine is to strengthen cooperation between the two structures.

The event began at the tea table and was continued in the conference hall. First, the chief editor of the magazine “National Geographic Azerbaijan”, Seymur Teymurov, spoke in detail about the activities of the magazine since inception until today, its achievements and problems.

He noted that the two articles of the Azerbaijani photojurnalists were included in the list of best photos of the year of the magazine “National Geographic” of National Geographic Society (US)  Published in 26 languages and has more than 40 mln. readers. 

Further, the director of the Institute of Geography, academician Ramiz Mammadov, spoke about the events dedicated to the 70^th anniversary of the Institute and its achievements. He widely informed about new publications. He stressed that the geographical science, covering all spheres of life, is directly in the range of interests of the magazine “National Geographic”.

The Chairman of the trade union organization of the Institute of Geography PhD in geography Habil Hagverdiyev made a speech. He emphasized fruitful activities of the Institute in recent years. He again pointed to the close connection of the magazine with geography.

Academician Ramiz Mammadov and editor Seymur Teymurov noted that similar meetings will be held regularly, which has a positive effect on their relationship.

The meeting continued in a good mood on the golf course.
