Mina Baghirova defended her dissertation on the topic "Economic and geographical aspects of regulating the demographic development of the Lankaran natural region" for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Geographical Sciences in the specialty 540301 - "Population Geography" at the meeting of the one-time Dissertation Council of the BFD 3.14, operating at the Institute of Geography named after acad. H. Aliyev of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

A decision was made by secret ballot to petition the HAC under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to award M. Baghirova the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Geography.
