On November 6, the newspaper "Azerbaijan" published an interview with the head of the department of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H.Aliyev of MSE AR, Doctor of Philosophy in Geography, Associate Professor Mirnukh Ismayilov on the occasion of the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict.

In the article, published under the title "From Scorched Earth to Greenery", the landscape scientist spoke about the terror committed by Armenian vandals in Karabakh during the 30-year occupation, the burning or destruction of 100 hectares of vegetation and soil cover in Karabakh on the territory of Azerbaijan, the discharge of toxic waters into our rivers and the damage caused to our country as a result of the plundering of our natural resources.

Speaking about the reconstruction and restoration works in Karabakh, the geographer-scientist noted that the Azerbaijani state has carried out important work to restore the nature of these territories, that our dried-up springs and rivers are flowing again, our broken forests are flourishing again, and our destroyed buildings are being rebuilt.
