An agreement on cooperation in the field of science and education was signed between the Institute of Geography named after academician H.A. Aliyev of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Dagestan Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The event was held with the participation of guests from the Russian Academy of Sciences, scientists and specialists from the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas named after A.O. Kovalevsky and the Grozny State Oil Technological University named after academician M.D. Millionshchikov.
According to the agreement signed between the Institute of Geography and the Federal Research Center of Dagestan, it is planned to conduct joint scientific research in the field of studying the dynamics of the geoecological state of landscapes in the basins of small and medium-sized rivers of the Caspian Sea, the sea basin in the context of climate change and increased anthropogenic load.
According to the agreement, mutual assistance in implementing new programs, exchanging information and publications, organizing conferences and seminars, coordinating the educational process with scientific research, jointly acquiring new knowledge in the field of science, technology and education and creating innovative products and services will be carried out using the relevant resources of the parties.
The parties will jointly take part in an expedition to the Karachay basin of the Guba region with the aim of studying the dynamics of the geoecological situation in the basins of mountain rivers of the North-East Caucasus, Azerbaijan and Iran in the context of climate change and increased anthropogenic load.
Negotiations on cooperation between enterprises and reporting on implementation will be conducted by process coordinators, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Zaur Imrani, Executive Director of the Institute of Geology and Information Technology, and Surkhay Mamaev, Head of the Dagestan Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
