Aida Aslanova, an employee of the International and Public Relations Department of the Institute of Geography named after academician H. Aliyev of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the patrol of the Azerbaijani-language Wikipedia, participated in the summer as a trainer and organizer in the camp of young Wikipedians in the city of Sheki called “Let's learn, teach and share Wikipedia with young people.”
With the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the initiative of the user group "Azerbaijan Wikimedia", the aim of the event held in the Sheki Olympic Sports Complex was to strengthen the Wikimedia movement in Azerbaijan, establish close relationships and cooperation between active users, attract new young people and improve user skills.
At the invitation of Aida Aslanova, the camp was attended by the administrators of the Uzbek-language Wikipedia from the Republic of Uzbekistan, the chairman and members of the user group of Turkic-speaking countries. The experts provided information about the summit of Turkic-speaking countries, which will be held in Azerbaijan in 2025, and the TURKIC-Wikimedia training.
Within 4 days, 200 articles were posted on Wikipedia and 207 articles on Wikisource, and up to 50 photos of Sheki monuments were uploaded to Wikianbar (Commons). As a result of the event, A. Aslanova was awarded a certificate from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
