A reporting and election meeting of the Trade Union Organization of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H. Aliyev of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Azerbaijan Republic was held.

The event was attended by a representative of the Free Trade Union Organization of Education Workers, Mamed Mamedov.

Prof. Rza Mahmudov, who chaired the meeting, familiarized those present with the issues on the agenda. Then, chairman of the trade union organization of the institute, associate professor Habil Haqverdiyev, made a report for 2017-2023 and presented a draft decision of the trade union organization. The participants positively assessed the work of H. Haqverdiyev, who successfully served as chairman of the organization for many years, and wished him good health. The report was found acceptable and the draft decision was approved.

Kamran Ramazanly, a researcher at the Caspian Sea Hydrometeorology Department of the Institute, was elected by secret ballot, as the new chairman of the organization. Later, 7 new members of the Institute’s  Trade Union Organization were elected by open voting.
