A regular meeting of the Academic Council of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Ministry of Science and Education was held.
Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, General Director of the Institute of Oil and Gas, Academician Fakhraddin Gadirov, General Director of the Republican Seismological Service Center, Corresponding Member of ANAS Gurban Yetirmishli, General Director of the Institute of Geography named after academician Hasan Aliyev, Doctor of sciences in Geography Zakir Eminov. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education. Other employees also participated.
Academician Akif Alizade, General Director of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, briefed the audience on the agenda of the Scientific Council.
The information of Academician Fakhraddin Gadirov and Director General of the Institute of Geography Zakir Eminov "Analysis of the relationship between climate, modern tectonic processes, changes in sea level and relief of the Caucasus-Caspian region (2020-2023)" was heard. Scientists presented the results of recent years on the dynamics of the water surface of the Caspian Sea, atmospheric changes and other relevant scientific aspects.
The presentation by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Galina Martynova was met with interest. The speaker provided information on the ways of using Azerbaijani crude oil for medical and fuel purposes in healthcare, the microbiological properties of Naftalan oil, the composition of the oil used in general naftalan therapy. Answers were received to many questions on the topic.
Then, Saadat Alekbarova made a report on personnel training and said that first and second year postgraduate students who successfully passed the winter examination session of the 2022/2023 academic year passed the certification. The attestation was carried out under the chairmanship of Dadash Huseynov, Executive Director of the IGG, Corresponding Member of ANAS.
