The Khazar TV channel showed an interview with the director of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H.A. Aliyev of ANAS, Doctor of Geographical Sciences Zakir Eminov on the expediency of the transition of some administrative regions of the country to a centralized system.
Considering the choice of centralized management of economically inactive regions, the scientist noted that the potential of individual regions is not being used properly, and that for greater efficiency it is necessary to switch to a new system of administrative management and centralization of powers. It is necessary to take into account the potential of Azerbaijan in the field of agriculture and build agro-industrial complexes.
It is necessary to create regional cities that could compete with Baku in order to prevent the outflow of people to the capital. The creation of large industrial enterprises and service areas in these cities will create the basis for both employment and income for residents of the adjacent territories.
