Head of the Department of Tourism and Recreational Geography of the Institute of Geography named after Acad. H.Aliyev, associate professor Zaur Imrani visited the North-West region of Azerbaijan on August 10-14 to study the tourist potential of ethnic villages.
Together with Yusif Rahimov, head of the department “Environmental geography” of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS. The specialist conducted a study of natural and manmade monuments in the villages of these regions: Balakan, Zagatala, Sheki, Kakh, Gabala, where Muslim and Christian ingiloy, Avars, Sahurs, Lezgins and Udins.
Numerous villages such as Mahamalar, Salban, Kabkcheol, Gakhbash, Gum, Kotuklu, Lakit, Shin, Nik have great tourist potential. They will be able to attract both local and foreign tourists.
