On may17, a meeting of the Scientific Council was held under the chairmanship of the academic secretary Zarnura Hamidova. Research assistant of the Department of problems of the Caspian SEA Elnur Safarov made a report “Study of the level of the Caspian Sea using satellite altimetry”.

    The researcher conducted a detailed comparative analysis between satellite and ground-based observations. The maximum amplitude of the level of the Caspian Sea and their time phases observed in the corresponding tracks of Jason 1-2 and ENVISAT during the year throughout the entire area have been identified and mapped.
