In connection with the announcement of 2024 as the “Year of Green World Solidarity” and the holding of COP29 in Azerbaijan, the next address of the series of events organized jointly with the IG was the Naftalan city municipality. The meeting with representatives of the public began with a visit to the Heydar Aliyev Center in Naftalan.

introduced the guests to the participants of the event and explained the purpose of their visit to the region. According to her, the members of the Azerbaijan Geographical Society, the winner of the grant competition announced by the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and geographers will speak and inform the public about the most prestigious international event COP29 on climate change.

The Chairman of the AGO, Head of the Department of the Institute of Geography,PhD, Associate Professor Mirnukh Ismailov made a report on the topic Trends in Changing the Environmental Situation in the Modern World and Its Manifestations in Azerbaijan. He emphasized the importance of using the most innovative methods of science and technology in environmental protection, as well as the need to develop new scientific projects.
