The head of the department of "Hydrology and water resources of the earth" of the Institute of Geography named after academician H. Aliyev, D.Sc. in geography, Professor Rza Mahmudov presented a report on "Regional climate changes in Azerbaijan and their impact on water resources" at the event dedicated to COP29, held at the Scientific Research Institute of Water and Land Reclamation of the State Water Management Agency of Azerbaijan,
The current state of regional climate changes in the country and their impact on water resources based on facts were communicated in the report to the participants. In particular, it was reported that average long-term temperatures increased by 1.1 ° C compared to the long-term norm, regime changes occurred in the annual flow of river waters, and the annual flow in some rivers decreased by 12-15% . At the end of the report, answers were given to many questions from the participants.
