The General meeting of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was held 2024-02-29 18:02:00 / IMPORTANT EVENTS

On February 29, the National Assembly of NANA was held in the building of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.

The event was attended by the Deputy Head of the Department for Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora Issues, Multiculturalism and Religion of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Maharram Ahmadov, Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev, Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Famil Mustafayev, Executive Director of the Science Foundation of Azerbaijan Mehriban Imanova, Chairman of the Council of Elders of Azerbaijan, Eldar Guliyev, Head of the Council for Scientific and Technological Research of Turkey (TUBITAK), Professor Hasan Mandal, members of the NANA Presidium, members of the Milli Mejlis, actual members and corresponding members of the Academy of Sciences, directors of scientific institutions and organizations located in ANAS and which it covers, rectors of higher educational institutions.

At the General Assembly, the President of the National Academy of Sciences, academician Isa Habibbeyli, gave a speech on the topic "Processes of renewal in the National Academy of Sciences: preliminary results and prospects".

The Presidium of NANA adopted relevant resolutions aimed at ensuring the active participation of the Academy of Sciences in the state policy on the reconstruction of Karabakh, conducting complex studies related to the study of history, culture, archeology, folklore and ethnography, toponymy, natural resources, geological and geographical features of the Karabakh region, and ensured their performance.

The head of NANA noted that the Academy of Sciences has taken important measures for active activity and stimulation of youth, established a special award of the Academy of Sciences for young scientists, and emphasized the need to improve the quality of training in doctoral studies for the formation of future generations of scientists.
