Senior researcher at the Institute of Geography named after academician H. Aliyev of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jamilya Akhmedova, took part in a round table held in Baku, organized by UNICEF with the support of the Ministry of Health, dedicated to “Assessing the knowledge, skills and adaptive behavior of medical workers in Azerbaijan due to pollution and climate change."
At the event, the results of an assessment of environmental pollution in Azerbaijan (pollution with heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, especially dangerous pesticides, air pollution, etc.), the impact of climate change risks on children's health were heard. Health issues were discussed, views were exchanged and a number of proposals were made.
