Students of higher educational institutions do practice at the Institute of Geography named after Academician H.Aliyev of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to the cooperation agreement concluded between Baku State University and IG, 55 students of the Faculty of Geography of the University and 9 students of the Faculty of Ecology, as well as 17 students of the West Caspian University studying forestry, came to the Institute of Geography to gain work experience.

The goal is the experimental improvement of the knowledge acquired by students in an educational institution, the formation of practical skills necessary for research and professional activities, and an increase of interest in science.

The first acquaintance of students with the educational institution happened during a meeting with geographers. Head of Education Department, Ph.D. Museib Yunusov informed the students about the experiment program, upcoming work and wished them success.

P.h.D Zarnura Hamidova, Scientific Secretary of the Institute, made a report covering the history of the Institute of Geography, research areas, famous scientists, geographical problems, scientific achievements and more.

Then Sitara Tarikhazar, Doctor of Geography, spoke about natural risks, landslides, floods, methods of their prevention, etc.

Internship period: from February 16 to April 25. Currently, student trainees are divided into groups of 6-8 people and get acquainted with the principles of the departments, the research work carried out in laboratories, and get acquainted with the ongoing scientific research.
