Basic scientific achievements:

.According to drifter observations, surface currents and the distribution of the surface temperature over the Middle and Southern Caspian were first studied, and several important characteristics were obtained.

.Comparative analysis of coastal meteorological stations observations data and corresponding satellite observations data has been used to calculate the coefficients that can be used to determine the pattern of atmospheric precipitation distribution throughout the Caspian Sea basin by satellite data.

.The analysis of the maps based on Jason 1, Jason 2, and ENVİSAT satellite altimetry the amplitude of seasonal sea-level changes and the phase of their occurrence in the different places in the water area of the Caspian Sea.

.For the first time, according to the observations of different level stations, analyzed the long-term time series of changes in the level of the Caspian Sea and revealed the local periodicity of their changes in different time intervals by the Wavelet analysis.

.With the help of Cross Wavelet (XWT) and Wavelet Coherence (WTC) analysis, the degree of covariance between the data of different level measurement stations in different time periods was studied and features that could play the role of predictors for predicting abrupt sea-level changes were revealed.

.The same methods have been used to investigate the possible influence of the Southern Oscillation Index (El Nino and La Nino phenomena) on sea-level changes, and in the time periods when abrupt sea-level changes were observed (1930-1940 and 1978-1995), a covariant relationship was established between sea level and the index of southern ossification with a 16-year local periodical.
