A group of staff from the H.Aliyev Institute of Geography of the FR MSE participated in the International Conference "Caspian Sea Tipping Point," organized at the Baku Congress Center at the initiative and with the support of IDEA and CASPISNET.
The two-day conference, attended by representatives of several influential organizations in their fields, discussed important and diverse issues such as the impact of climate change on Caspian Sea level fluctuations and marine biodiversity, the influence of hydrological and geomorphological processes on the dynamics of the Caspian Sea's development, and particularly the status of seal families.
Associate Professor Z. T. Imrani delivered an engaging presentation on "The Economic and Geographical Paradigm of the Caspian Sea Coastal Regions in Sustainable Development," providing extensive information on coastal cities, their production, and the clustering of production areas across the country's economic regions. At the conclusion of the interactive official meeting, discussions took place on the launch of the regional roadmap and the summary of the results. Discussions were also held to develop key ideas as the main outcome and to evaluate further actions. The results obtained will play a significant role in studying and protecting Caspian Sea level fluctuations and the marine ecosystem in the coming years.
