The book “Travel gardens ” (Part II, Volume I) by the famous 19th century traveler Haji Zeynalabdin Shirvani was published under the scientific editorship of Professor Zakir Eminov, General Director of the Institute of Geography named after academician Heydar Aliyev of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, professor.

The book was translated from Persian into Azerbaijani by Shahin Yakhyaev, a researcher at the Department of History and Economics of Iran at the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Academician Ziya Bunyadov. H.Z. Shirvani, an outstanding personality of his time - traveler, geographer, writer, philosopher, cultural connoisseur, was a scientist with a great name, which is respectfully mentioned in the Caucasus, Central Asia, Iran, Turkey, Arab countries, India, Indonesia and a number of other countries . Judges, kings, sultans, scientists, religious leaders were proud to communicate with him and be participants in the meetings in which he participated. Three great works by the famous traveler are known: “Travel gardens” (“Riyaz al-Siyahat”), “Gardens of Travel” (“Hadaik al-Siyahat”) and “The Journey of Bustan” (“Bustan al-Siyahat”). The work “Gardens of Travel” (“Riyaz al-siyahat”) presented to readers is the second part of the book written by a scientist under this title. The first volume of books, which is planned to be published in three volumes, contains travel notes, thoughts about Central Asia, Pakistan, Turkey, natural and geographical conditions, population, ethnography, history, cities and villages, and outstanding figures of these places. Much of the information presented here is published in Azerbaijan for the first time.

The work of Prof Z. Eminov, who spent a lot of time and effort on creating the publication, is undeniable. Undoubtedly, the traveler's works, published in his native language two centuries after he was written, will be of interest to readers.
