Basic scientific achievements: | A new approach has been developed for determining optimal sites for energy production through the integrated application of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and ArcGIS tools within the framework of the Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methodology, based on the integration of stationary observation stations and satellite data databases for assessing solar and wind energy potential. Maps visualizing optimal energy production areas beyond restrictive factors were created, taking into account the geographic placement and technical operational conditions of power plants. Using PVsyst, WAsP, and WindSim software, the power analysis of solar and wind energy and the modeling of technical energy production were conducted by evaluating the efficiency of photovoltaic panels, turbine heights, and various rotor diameters. The maximum energy output was calculated based on the relevant formulas. The total area of highly favorable wind energy sites was determined to be 0.33 thousand km², while 40 zones covering 1016.8 km² were identified for solar energy. If fully utilized, these areas are projected to generate 55.2 billion kWh of solar power and 3.6 billion kWh of wind power, which is twice the country's current electricity demand. |
