First Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev held a meeting with the heads of scientific research institutions of the Earth Sciences department.

The meeting was attended by Academician Fakhraddin Gadirov, Director of the Institute of Geography Ramiz Mammadov, and Deputy Director for Science of the Institute Maharram Hasanov, Deputy Director for science of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, corresponding member of ANAS Dadash Huseynov and others.  The scientists discussed the tasks arising from the Order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev “ On additional measures to ensure the efficient use of water resources”, approved on July 27..

They considered it necessary to use the scientific potential of ANAS in the implementation of these tasks.

Appropriate instructions were given and tasks were set to study the dynamics of the relief and modern geomorphological processes, geological and environmental risks when choosing the location of the main waterworks, as well as creating information and preparing a draft National Strategy for the Effective Use of Water Resources.

It was proposed to prepare possible solutions for the use of alternative water sources, including water from the Caspian Sea.
