Researchers from the Soil Fertility Laboratory of the Institute of Geography under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan conducted a field expedition to the Aşağı Ağcakənd settlement of Goranboy district as part of their thematic research activities.

The main objective of the expedition was to assess the nutrient status, dynamics, and fertility indicators of agricultural soils. Within the framework of the fieldwork, researchers carried out surveys in wheat and tobacco fields, evaluated soil cover characteristics, and collected soil samples from a depth of 0–30 cm.

The collected samples will undergo laboratory analyses to determine the main agrochemical properties of the soils, including the content of essential nutrients and overall soil fertility. At present, preparatory work for the laboratory analyses is underway.

The expedition was carried out with the participation of the staff of the Institute's Soil Fertility Laboratory: Associate Professor Yegana Manafova (PhD in Agricultural Sciences), Associate Professor Khuraman Zeynalova (PhD in Agricultural Sciences), Elnara Abasova (Researcher in Agricultural Sciences), Sabina Rahimova, and Nurida Nabiyeva.
