Preliminary Discussion of a Doctor of Science Dissertation Held at the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan 2026-07-01 14:57:00 / SCIENTIFIC ASSEMBLIES

On 25 June 2026, the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan held a preliminary discussion of the Doctor of Science dissertation prepared by Associate Professor Saida Zeynalova, PhD in Geography, entitled "Geodynamic Regularities of the Formation and Development of Arid and Semi-Arid Landscape Ecosystems of the Western Coast of the Caspian Sea."

The discussion took place at a joint meeting of the Institute’s Geomorphology and Paleogeography and Landscape Studies and Nature Management laboratories. During the seminar, the candidate presented the main findings of her research and provided detailed information on the relevance of the study, its scientific novelty, as well as its theoretical and practical significance. The participating scientists and experts held a comprehensive discussion of the dissertation, offering their comments and recommendations.

The author provided detailed answers to all questions raised during the discussion. The participants highly appreciated the scientific quality of the dissertation, emphasizing that the research makes a significant contribution to addressing important contemporary scientific challenges.

Following the preliminary discussion, it was concluded that Associate Professor Saida Zeynalova’s Doctor of Science dissertation entitled "Geodynamic Regularities of the Formation and Development of Arid and Semi-Arid Landscape Ecosystems of the Western Coast of the Caspian Sea" should be submitted for public defense. The dissertation was unanimously recommended for defense.
