The International Scientific Conference Dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of Professor Amin Ismayilov Has Commenced 2026-06-10 16:47:00 / CONFERENCES

  The international scientific conference titled “Caspian Basin: Ecogeographical Problems and Sustainable Development”, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the prominent soil scientist, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Amin Ismayilov, has commenced. The event is organized by the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the opening ceremony, Acting Director of the Institute of Geography, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani, welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of the conference. Subsequently, Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Irada Huseynova; Professor Shovgi Goychayli of Baku State University; Professor Yusif Aliyev, Director of the Quba Branch of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University; Doctors of Geographical Sciences Mirnuh Ismayilov and Said Safarov from the Institute of Geography; Associate Professor Tunzala Isgandarova of Ganja State University; and the jubilarian scholar, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Amin Ismayilov, addressed the audience and emphasized the scientific importance of the conference.

   A total of 123 papers were submitted to the conference. Following the scientific review process, 87 papers were accepted and included in the program. In addition to Azerbaijani researchers, scientists from Türkiye, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and China are also presenting their reports at the event.

During the two-day conference, scientific discussions will focus on the ecogeographical problems of the Caspian Basin, climate change, biodiversity, soil and water resources, environmental security, and issues related to sustainable development.
