A Republican Scientific-Practical Conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the prominent scientist, Honored Scientist, and Academician Mammadtaghi Jafarov was held at the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ADAU).

The event was attended by Zaur Imrani, Acting Director of the Institute of Geography under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, and Associate Professor.

During the conference, ADAU Rector Zafar Gurbanov, members of the Milli Majlis Naqif Hamzayev and Mushfig Jafarov, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Academician Irada Huseynova, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Republic, Academician Abel Maharramov, as well as other representatives of the scientific and educational community, spoke about Academician Mammadtaghi Jafarov’s significant contributions to the development of Azerbaijani science.

It was emphasized that Mammadtaghi Jafarov was not only a distinguished scientist but also an outstanding educator who played an important role in training hundreds of specialists and made invaluable contributions to the development of young scientists.

As part of the event, participants visited an exhibition displayed in the foyer of the university’s administrative building, showcasing the rich life and professional achievements of the academician. A documentary video dedicated to the life and scientific legacy of Mammadtaghi Jafarov was also presented during the conference.
