A Scientific Seminar Held at the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan 2026-03-11 15:17:00 / SCIENTIFIC ASSEMBLIES

         A regular scientific seminar was organized at the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The seminar was chaired by Doctor of Geographical Sciences Nariman Pashayev. During the seminar, the institute’s doctoral students delivered presentations on the topics of their scientific research.

      Doctoral student Narkhanım Kamilova presented a report titled “Study of the Impact of Construction Material Production on the Geo-Ecological Conditions of the Absheron Peninsula and Proposals for Reducing Its Environmental Impact.” The presentation provided information about the impact of construction material production on the ecological environment of the peninsula, existing problems, and possible scientific approaches to eliminate them.

       Doctoral student Firuza Agayeva delivered a presentation on “The Role of Geographic Information Systems in Assessing the Ecogeographical Situation: The Case of the Southern Slope of the Greater Caucasus.” During the presentation, she discussed the objectives of the research, the methods used, and the possibilities of applying geographic information systems to assess the ecogeographical situation on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus. The preliminary results of the research were also presented to the seminar participants.

     Doctoral student Namin Eminov presented a report titled “The Current State of the Territorial Organization and Structure of the Economy in the Shirvan–Salyan Economic Region.” In his report, he provided information about the distribution of economic sectors and the existing structure in the region.

       The reports were discussed by the institute’s scientists, who asked questions related to the topics and provided scientific recommendations to the doctoral students. The seminar participants noted the relevance of the research and emphasized its importance for future scientific studies and practical applications.
