
On February 4, the next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held. The meeting was chaired by the Acting Director of the Institute, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani.
Members of the Scientific Council were provided with detailed information on the items of the agenda, followed by discussions. The first presentation was delivered by Nariman Pashayev, Head of the “Geopolitics and Economic Geography” Laboratory, on the topic “Geographical Aspects of the Impact of the Green Economy on Urban Management”, accompanied by a presentation.
Within the framework of the meeting, a ceremony was also held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Enver Aliyev, Head of the Laboratory of Geographic Ecology, PhD in Geography. Zaur Imrani and the Institute’s staff warmly congratulated the jubilee celebrant and wished him continued success in his scientific work.
In addition, the new scientific topics of the laboratories for 2026–2027 were discussed and 21 topics were approved. Furthermore, the documents of Senior Researcher Natiq Babayev of the “Geopolitics and Economic Geography” Laboratory for the conferment of the academic title of Associate Professor were presented to the Scientific Council. It was decided to submit the documents in accordance with the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the awarding of the title of Associate Professor.
