
On 22 January, research fellows of the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan (IPSC) — PhD in Geography Beyimkhanim Huseynova, research fellow of the Population Geography Laboratory, and PhD in Geography Turana Huseynova, research fellow of the Tourism and Recreation Geography Laboratory, participated in an event organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Researchers of the National Aviation Academy.
The event was aimed at enhancing the academic writing and scientific presentation skills of young scientists and researchers, as well as strengthening the exchange of ideas. Within the framework of the event, PhD in Geography Beyimkhanim Huseynova delivered a presentation on the topic “Scientific Communication Skills.” The presentation provided comprehensive information on methods of conducting field research, integrating data obtained from field studies into academic writing, rules for preparing scientific articles, conference papers and abstracts, as well as guidelines for developing scientific presentations and other related issues.During the event, discussions were held on the challenges faced by young researchers in publishing their scientific works in both national and international journals and conferences, ways to overcome these challenges, and issues related to increasing the country’s academic visibility in scientometric databases. An exchange of views took place under the guidance of PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Fuad Mirzayev, a staff member of the National Aviation Academy, and PhD in Geography Jamal Huseynov, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Researchers of the National Aviation Academy, during which participants’ questions were addressed.At the end of the event, issues related to improving the quality of scientific publications by young researchers and further developing the research skills of young scientists representing the country in the research arena were discussed.
