
On December 2-3, Mirnukh Ismayilov, Head of the Landscape Studies and Landscape Planning Department at the Institute of Geography under the MSE of Azerbaidjan participated in the First International Environmental Congress on Green Cities, which was held in Tabriz, Islamic Republic of Iran.
Tabriz State University, the Tabriz Municipality, and local entrepreneurs demonstrated a high level of organizational skills in organizing the congress. Participants included primarily representatives from Middle Eastern countries and local specialists.
The scientist presented a paper at the congress entitled "Principles of Creating a Landscape Ecological Network (Framework) and Its Role in Sustainable Development." The scientific and methodological approaches outlined in the paper aroused considerable interest. An agreement was reached to conduct similar research jointly with scientists from other countries. Following the conference, several participants, including the paper's author, were awarded certificates for their work and a prize, the symbol of the conference. On the second day of the event, M. Ismayilov visited the house-museum of the great Azerbaijani poet Shahriyar and met with his son.
