The regular meeting of the Academic Council of the Institute of Geography named after H.Aliyev of the AR MSE was held.

After familiarizing the participants with the agenda, Acting Director General of the Institute, PhD in geography, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani presented information on the VIII International Conference of Geomorphologists held in Georgia. It was noted that during the event, an agreement was reached to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the Georgian Geographical Society and the Institute of Geography of Azerbaijan.

Doctor of Geographical Sciences Stara Tarikhazar, Head of the Department of Geomorphology and Natural Risks and, spoke about her participation and presented a paper at the conference. She noted that the management of the Georgian Geological Museum proposed signing a memorandum of cooperation with the Institute of Geography and holding it in Baku as part of the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Geographical Society.

Information was heard about the monograph “Azerbaijani Geomorphologists in Azerbaijani Science”, prepared by the head of the department, Stara Tarikhazar, for the 80th anniversary of the institute and the 75th anniversary of the department, and a unanimous decision was made to submit the book for publication.

The meeting also discussed preparations for the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference, which will take place on November 15-16, a review of the book "Eco-Geomorphological Conditions of the Lesser Caucasus" by leading researcher and PhD in Geography Samira Abushova, and other issues, on which relevant decisions were made.

The issue of awarding the academic title of Associate Professor was considered to PhD in geography Natig Babayev, Senior Researcher in the Department of History of Geographical Thought and Toponymy. A positive decision has been made on this matter.
