Head of Institute of Geography supports holding COP31 in Turkey 2025-06-02 12:29:00 / IMPORTANT EVENTS

Turkey and Australia are competing to host the COP31 summit in 2026.

Azerbaijan expressed its readiness to support this initiative of Turkey, which plays an important role in climate diplomacy, and to provide the necessary assistance for its success.

In this regard, Acting Director General of the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Education and Science, Dr. Zaur Imrani, in an interview with Cross Media, said that he highly appreciates the idea of Turkey's participation as a candidate for COP31: "In our modern era, COP is an arena for taking measures and implementing an action plan that is considered important and necessary for various aspects of the global environment, as well as for demonstrating the political, economic, social and infrastructural power of the state. In this regard, I support Turkey, which wants to host COP31, and I believe that it is capable of hosting it at a high level."
