Associate Professors of the Department of Economic and Social Geography of the Faculty of Geography of Moscow State University, candidates of geographical sciences Alexandre Danshin and Maria Goryachko together with a group of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students of the faculty visited the Institute of Geography named after Academician H. Aliyev of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Azerbaijan Republic.

A meeting was organized between the members of the delegation visiting our country and geographers of the relevant areas of the Institute of Geography in order to study the current situation of the Azerbaijani coast of the Caspian Sea and get acquainted with the Institute of Geography.

The Director General, Professor Zakir Eminov, introducing the guests to the Institute of Geography, spoke about the areas of scientific research, scientific divisions, prominent scientists, informed about scientific achievements, new publications, etc.

Speaking about the activities of the Department of Political and Economic Geography of Azerbaijan, the head, Doctor of Geographical Sciences Nariman Pashayev noted his personal acquaintance with A. Danshin and his invitation to the institute. The head of the delegation A. Danshin spoke about the activities of the Faculty of Geography of Moscow State University and said that before arriving in Baku they visited Astana, Kazakhstan, in connection with the problem of the Caspian Sea level, and in the coming days they will go to the cities of Sumgait and Lankaran.

The event was attended by prof. Zakir Eminov, heads of the department - doctors of geographical sciences Amir Aliyev and Said Safarov, and PhD in geography Museib Yunusov, scientific secretary, doctor of geographic sciences Saida Zeynalova. With the participation of Stara Tarikhazar and guests, issues of global warming and its impact on the level of the Caspian Sea, as well as on the human health, the decrease in water in the Caspian and rivers, demographic problems, ecotourism, territorial organization of the economy and transport, ways to solve political and geographical problems, etc. were discussed.

An agreement was reached on continuing and strengthening scientific ties between the two institutions.
