The head of the Department of Hydrology of Land and Water Resources of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H. Aliyev, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Rza Makhmudov, met with Sadyk Gurbanov, the Chairman of the Committee on Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology of Milli Majlis. The purpose of the meeting was to participate in the discussion of the article of the Law on Hydrometeorological Activities on the transfer of hydrometeorological data, as well as to exchange views on issues of paid and free transfer of hydrometeorological data specified in Article 17 of the law.

The scientist informed the Chairman of the Committee that, in connection with the implementation of this article, state research and educational institutions and the media are experiencing great difficulties in obtaining this information and providing it to researchers free of charge. In this regard, the Chairman contacted the relevant bodies of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and instructed them to prepare a corresponding letter addressed to Minister Mukhtar Babayev on issues of implementing this article.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee presented a report on the topic “Ilham Aliyev’s Environmental Policy”. He presented Rza Makhmudov with a three-volume book “Sustainable Development and Green World (2003-2023)”.
