Chingiz Gulaliyev turns 70 2024-12-20 16:33:00 / JUBILEES

Director of Pirguli Research Station of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H.A. Aliyev MSEAR, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Chingiz Gulaliyev turned 70 years old.

Chingiz Gulali oglu Gulaliyev was born on December 13, 1954 in Malikchobany village of Shamakhi district. After graduating from high school, he was accepted to the Physics Department of the Azerbaijan State University. After graduating from the institute in 1977, he began his career as a physics teacher at an eight-year school in Nuydu village.

In 1981, Ch.G.Gulaliyev entered the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of  ANAS and passed to the A.D.Srup Institute of Soil Science in Kherson (Ukraine), where in 1985 he defended his dissertation on the topic of "Thermoelectric properties of some soils" in the specialty "Soil Science" and received the academic degree of PhD in agricultural sciences.

In 2016, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic " Regularities of changes in thermal-electric and water-physical properties of the main types of soils in Azerbaijan". In 1991, he was awarded the title of senior research fellow.

From 1978 to 1989, Ch.G.Gulalyev participated in various field research works together with the relevant laboratories of the Azerbaijan Institute of Space Research, studied saline soils of the northern part of the Mil Plain using aerial photography data, and participated in studies using the spectrum. From 1994 to the present, Ch.G.Gulalyev has been working as the head of the department of the Pirkuly Scientific Station of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H.A.Aliyev of ANAS (now the Ministry of Science and Education), located in the Shamakhi region.

From 2009 to 2019, he worked as an associate professor at the Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management, and from 2022 to the present at Lankaran State University.

Ch. G. Gulaliev's research covers a wide range of areas. The purpose of these studies is to study the dependence of thermal, electrophysical and water-physical properties of soils on influencing factors in laboratory and field conditions. They are also associated with the creation of mathematical models of relationships between quantities, the development of methods for calculating the specific surface of the soil based on dielectric permittivity, humidity and salinity based on electrical conductivity coefficients, as well as the compilation of maps and diagrams of the area using vertical and horizontal electrical profiling methods. The application of these works in the agricultural sector is of great importance, since the generalization of the main diagnostic physical indicators of soils serves to study the prospects for the regular distribution of agricultural crops in the zone.

Ch. G. Gulaliev worked in France, Turkey, Norway, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moscow, Bangkok and others. He has participated in various scientific and practical conferences (and also trainings) held in different places, has certificates. He also took part in 15 state and international programs, and also participated and managed dozens of grant projects.

He is a member of the expert council of the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as a member of the Azerbaijan Soil Science, Geographical and Russian Soil Science Societies named after V.V. Dokuchaev.

More than 150 scientific articles and theses of Ch.G.Gyulaliyev have been published in scientific journals and conference proceedings in Azerbaijan and various foreign countries. He is the author of 16 books and 1 methodological manual.

We congratulate Chingiz muellim on his 70th birthday, wish him long life, health, inexhaustible energy and new creative successes!
