Head of the Department of the Institute of Geography named after acad. H. Aliyev of the MSE AR, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor Amir Aliyev was a participant in the international conference "The Caspian Sea and Sustainable Development: Environmental Protection".

Civil society representatives from the Caspian littoral countries and well-known international experts took part in the forum organized within the framework of COP29 by the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the panel session, the geographer presented a report on the decline in the Caspian Sea level in recent years and the negative events caused by this process in the coastal zones of Azerbaijan.
