Members of the Azerbaijan Geographical Society (AGS) - Chairman and Project Manager, Associate Professor Mirnukh Ismayilov, trainers PhD Gulnar Hajiyeva and Emil Jabrayilov and project expert, Associate Professor Saida Zeynalova, together with researchers from the Institute of Geography named after Academician H. Aliyev of the MES of the RA conducted trainings with teachers of the secondary school No. 1 named after I. Nasimi in Naftalan.
The event was organized in connection with the AGS project "Ecological State of Karabakh", which won the grant competition announced by the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The project manager spoke to the teachers about the environmental, political and economic significance of 2024 declared by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan I.A. Aliyev as the Year of "Solidarity for a Green World" and COP29 for Azerbaijan.
Focusing on global environmental issues, S. Zeynalova emphasized in her speech that each component of nature is united with each other and it is important to protect it. G.Hajiyeva noted the importance of further raising awareness about preventing environmental pollution and spoke about the importance of showing solidarity in environmental activities.
Jabrailov emphasized that the human factor plays a key role in the occurrence of climate change, gave detailed information on reducing the impact on the environment and at the same time the greenhouse effect.
The participants, who expressed satisfaction with the meeting, noted the importance of holding such events regularly.
