Head of department at the Institute of Geography named after. acad. H. Aliyev, Doctor of Geological Sciences Said Safarov and Art. Researcher, CASPISNET coordinator, Ph.D. Elnur Safarov took part in the 1st seminar “Caspian Blue Horizons”, organized jointly by the Baku Port, ADA University and the Public Association IDEA (International Dialogue on Environmental Protection).
The event, which was attended by senior government officials, heads of diplomatic agencies, private sector leaders, and representatives of international and civil society organizations, aimed to bring together stakeholders on a global scale to address environmental issues in the Caspian Sea region. This first workshop, held at ADA University, marks the start of discussions ahead of COP29, which will take place in November 2024 in Azerbaijan, and confirms its importance and alignment with international climate goals.
Elnur Safarov, who took an active part in organizing the event, made a report at the seminar “Navigating climate change: Caspian Sea level variability and the sustainability of the coastal ecosystem.”
