A monograph “Study of Caspian Sea level fluctuations,” by Elnur Safarov, senior researcher at the Institute of Geography named after academician H. Aliyev,  has been published.

The main hydrometeorological parameters of the Caspian Sea are studied in the monograph, using modern research methods based on contact and satellite data, including the main features of seasonal and long-term changes in level. For the first time, using wavelet transforms, which are methods of spectral analysis, the period-amplitude-time dependence of non-stationary changes in the level of the Caspian Sea and its possible connection with the El Niño phase of the global climate index were studied.

The book is intended for specialists working in the field of Caspian Sea level problems, as well as satellite altimetry and spectral analysis.
