A presentation of the book “The Georgian Policy of Ilham Aliyev: in the Context of Energy Strategy” was held in the Gardabani region of Georgia, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev.

The event was attended by employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia, scientists, guests from Azerbaijan and representatives of the public.

The authors of the book are senior researcher, PhD in geography Natavan Jafarova and researcher Kamran Ramazanly at the Institute of Geography named after academician Hasan Aliyev of the Ministry of Science and Education.   

A photo exhibition dedicated to the National Leader was presented at the event. The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Georgia were played. The memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev was honored with a minute of silence.

Kamran Ramazanli noted in his speech that the main purpose of creating the book was to analyze the policy of President Ilham Aliyev in Georgia, to consider the views of the Georgian leadership on cooperation between two neighboring and friendly countries.

Director General of the Institute of Geography, Professor Zakir Eminov spoke about the role and importance of the oil and gas industry in the economy of Azerbaijan. He said that only at the end of the 20th century, after gaining independence, did the Azerbaijani people get the opportunity to use national resources in accordance with the interests of their people. Under his leadership, the oil strategy of Azerbaijan was developed. When developing this strategy, the interests of both current and future generations were taken into account as the main condition. The energy policy of the country's President Ilham Aliyev is a successful continuation of this path.

At the end of his speech, the General Director thanked the authors and noted that the book is a new contribution to strengthening Azerbaijani-Georgian relations.

Speaking at the event, the participants spoke about the importance of the book and emphasized that the new oil strategy of Azerbaijan, pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, who is a worthy follower of Heydar Aliyev, is a favorable development program that brings benefits at the national, regional and global levels.

 The book was published in Azerbaijani and Georgian languages.
