Associate Professor, PhD in geography Samira Alekbarova, Senior Researcher of the Department of “Demography and Geography of Population” of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H. Aliyev of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, took part in the 3rd phase of the Eastern Program of the European Union on “Prevention, preparation and response to natural and man-made disasters” took part in the meeting of the National Advisory Group held within the framework of (PPRD East3).

The main goal of the event is cooperation between the European Union and Azerbaijan in the field of disaster risk management, strengthening links between all relevant government institutions and civil society organizations, as well as the scientific community, through a national inclusive approach and measures for the prevention and management of natural disasters.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, the Swedish Civil Defense Agency and the Italian Red Cross Society.
