On June 5, the opening of the annual meeting and the first working day of CASPİSNET (Caspian Integrated Scientific Network), created on the initiative of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H.Aliyev of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, took place on the topic "Peculiarities of the Caspian Sea: interface of science - politics - practice in perspective", organized by the ADA University and the University of Geneva (Switzerland).

The meeting was supported by BP Azerbaijan, Azerkosmos, AzerGold JSC, ARPA Consulting, Hydrolog LLC, French and Italian embassies in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan-France Institute, SOCAR-FUGRO, Azerbaijan Geographical Society (ACC), ANAS and others. The event was attended by Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, Vice-President of ANAS, Assistant to the Vice-President of ANAS Ragsana Askerova, employees of the Institute of Geography - General Director Zakir Eminov, Executive Director Zaur Imrani, Head of Department Said Safarov, Senior Researcher and event organizer Elnur Safarov, postdoctoral student at the university, coordinator of the international network CASPISNET, SOCAR, NASA, representatives of the ministries of ecology and economy, various universities, as well as well-known scientists from the USA, France, Switzerland, Italy and Russia.

The event will run until June 8th.
