Head of the Department of Geomorphology of the Coast and Bottom of the Caspian Sea, Institute of Geography named after acad. H.A.Aliyev of ANAS, Doctor of Geography, Professor Amir Aliyev represented our republic at the International Scientific Forum "Caspian-2022: Ways of Sustainable Development" held in May 22-24, 2022 in Astrakhan, Russia.
The purpose of the forum was to discuss the main priorities of the innovative development of the Caspian macroregion, topical issues of interaction between scientific organizations, universities and business communities in modern conditions, attracting talented youth to this geostrategic region, etc. The event, held at Astrakhan State University, was attended by heads of academies of sciences of the Caspian countries, rectors of universities and leaders of business communities.
On the first day of the forum, the scientist spoke at the plenary session "New Opportunities and Priorities for the Sustainable Development of the Caspian Region" on the main problems of the Caspian Sea - changes in water levels and environmental problems. He stressed the importance of joint cooperation between scientific organizations, universities and business circles of the Caspian countries in solving these problems.
Our representative, who actively participated in numerous events within the framework of the forum, joined the discussion of the role of the scientific potential of the academies in the sustainable development of the Caspian region at a meeting of representatives of the academies of sciences of the Caspian countries.
After the conference, the representative of Azerbaijan gave an interview to Russia 24 TV channel, informing the audience about the event and the importance of holding it.
On the third day of the forum, Aliev, invited to the Faculty of Geology and Geography of the Astrakhan State University, made a scientific report to teachers and students on the topic “Main Problems of the Caspian Sea”.
On the last day of the forum, the geographer met with the leadership of the Astrakhan regional public organization "Azerbaijani National Culture", visited the national cultural center and met with the leadership of the secondary school named after Heydar Aliyev. He also visited the monument to Heydar Aliyev on the Alley named after the Great Leader. Then he met with teachers and staff of the Caspian Sea and River Fleet Institute, got acquainted with the "Azerbaijani" audience created here.
