Employees of the Department "Landscape and Landscape Planning" of the Institute of Geography named after acad. H.A. Aliyev of ANAS - head of department, Ph.D. Mirnukh Ismayilov and researcher Emil Jabrailov took part in an event organized by the Caucasus Regional Environmental Center in Gabala as part of "Supporting the Platform for Intergovernmental Scientific Approaches to Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) through National Ecosystem Assessment".

Reports on the assessment of water, mountain and forest ecosystems of Azerbaijan were made at a meeting with the participation of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, as well as specialized scientific institutes of ANAS, heard, proposals for eliminating shortcomings were discussed.

Commenting on the topic, M. Ismayilov said that in the report on aquatic ecosystems it is necessary to assess mountain glaciers, substantiate the role and importance of rivers as an ecological corridor, assess the degree of load and endurance of summer pastures in mountain ecosystems by natural regions.
