June 13, at the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, with the joint organization of the Institute of Geography named academician H.A.Aliyev and State Committee for Property Affairs held a scientific and practical workshop on the theme “Scientific basis for use of geographic information and cadastre in the Land Department of Azerbaijan Republic”, dedicated to the110th anniversary of birth of the outstanding geographer and soil-scientist, academician Hasan Aliyev.

   The purpose of the event was to use more efficiently the cadastral information and agro-climatic reserves in land management, as well as improvement in determining the quality and quantity of soil, planning agricultural lands, the application of recent scientific advances, modern innovative approaches.

   President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizade, delivered the opening speech, spoke about the development of science, the application of the latest scientific achievement and works carried out to improve the efficiency of scientific activity.

  Chairman of the State committee on Property Issues, Karam Hasanov, spoke about the exceptional merits of Academician Hasan Aliyev in the issue of scientific and rational land use.

   Director of the Institute of Geography, academician Ramiz Mammadov, made a presentation on the life, scientific and public activities of outstanding scientist in the field of plant growing and environment protection.

   The head of the Service of the address register and cadaster of immovable property under the State Committee on Property Issues, Ramiz Guliyev, made a presentation on the scientific and practical basis for using cadastral data in the land administration of Azerbaijan.

   The scientists of the Institute of Geography also made a speech at the event. PhD in geography M.Hasanov spoke on “Possibilities of using the agroclimatic reserves of Azerbaijan in the land administration, prepared jointly with PhD in geography U.Taghiyeva; Doctor of sciences Z.Eminov made the report in co-authorship with PhD E.Badalov on the theme “Concentration of the population on Absheron and problems of land use.

  Within the framework of the event, a memorandum was signed between the Service of the address register and cadaster of immovable property under the State Committee on Property Issues and the Institute of Geography named academician H.A.Aliyev of ANAS on joint management of land resources, cooperation in planning of agricultural areas.

  On the basis of the memorandum, joint work will be conducted in areas of interest to geographic science and public property. Joint scientific and methodological expertise of projects will be carried out.
