At the beginning of the event, flowers were laid in front of the bust of National Leader Heydər Əliyev located in the administrative building of the YAP Yasamal District Organization, and his cherished memory was commemorated with deep respect.
Speakers at the event emphasized that the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on May 28, 1918, became a historic manifestation of the Azerbaijani people’s will for freedom, national sovereignty, and independent statehood.
It was also noted that during the difficult and critical period of the early 1990s, National Leader Heydar Aliyev, returning to power at the insistence of the people, preserved Azerbaijan’s state independence and saved the country from a severe political and social crisis.
