Geographer scientist: Flooding and water accumulation may become the main damage mechanism in agricultural farms as a result of heavy rainfall.
Heavy rainfall observed in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula may lead to flooding and water accumulation, which could become the primary damage mechanism affecting agricultural farms in the region.
This was stated to AZERTAC by Nariman Pashayev, Head of the Geopolitics and Economic Geography Laboratory at the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education, Doctor of Geographical Sciences and Associate Professor. According to him, vegetable farming, greenhouses, and horticultural areas may suffer serious damage both in the form of short-term crop losses and long-term soil degradation.
