
On May 6, 2026, within the framework of the Republican Scientific Conference on “Assessment of Tourism Potential and Ways of Its Improvement in Azerbaijan” held at Mingachevir State University, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was signed between the university and the Institute of Geography.
The memorandum was signed by the Rector of Mingachevir State University, Anar Eminov, and the Director of the Institute, Zaur Imrani.
The document covers the expansion of cooperation in the fields of science and education, the implementation of joint scientific research projects, the promotion of academic exchange, as well as the organization of seminars, conferences, and master classes. Within the framework of the memorandum, it is planned to enhance students’ practical knowledge and skills, implement joint initiatives in the fields of tourism, ecology, and geography, and train professional specialists in accordance with the demands of the modern labor market.
During the discussions held between the parties, an agreement was reached on further expanding cooperation in the future, organizing international scientific conferences jointly by the two institutions, and carrying out the mutual exchange of scientific and methodological publications.
It was noted that this cooperation is of great importance in terms of strengthening relations between regional universities and scientific research institutes, encouraging young researchers to engage in scientific activity, and integrating Azerbaijani science into the international scientific community. In addition, the document will contribute to the scientifically grounded development of the region’s tourism and ecological potential and to strengthening joint activities in the direction of sustainable development.
