The Scientific Council of the Institute of Geography holds its latest meeting 2026-04-09 11:02:00 / SCIENTIFIC ASSEMBLIES

      The Scientific Council of the Institute of Geography, under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held its regular meeting. The session was chaired by the Acting Director of the Institute, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani.

        The meeting's agenda covered several key scientific and organizational issues. One of the primary topics featured a presentation titled "Assessment of the Impact of Slope Processes on the Operation of the Ganja–Goygol Road," delivered by the Head of Department, Doctor of Geographical Sciences Stara Tarikhazer, and Nurtan Hashimova. The presentation was met with great interest by the Council members, followed by an in-depth discussion on the subject.

       Following this, Aslan Babakhanov, Head of the "Data and Analytics Office" sector, presented a report on the activities of the first three months of the current year. The report detailed the results of scientific research conducted at the institute, digital data management, ongoing analytical activities, and future strategic plans. The Council members engaged with the presentation and addressed several clarifying questions.

      Additionally, the Council reviewed the application and official documents submitted by the Head of the "Geospatial Analytics and Cartography Laboratory," PhD in Geography Natavan Jafarova, for the scientific title of Associate Professor.

     Following a review of the submitted documents, a final opinion was issued. It was stated that the documentation must be revised in accordance with the current requirements and adjustments of the Supreme Attestation Commission (AAK) and subsequently resubmitted to the Scientific Council of the Institute.
